Institutional and Corporate Partnerships Intern at Street Child in Barcelona

Street Child embraces skill diversity among interns and we are more than happy, according to our current needs, to craft tasks depending on the personal qualities of the intern and/or give the intern freedom to apply his/her/their personal skills. 

You will be part of a small team led by the Street Child Country Manager Germany. 

Below are some examples of your responsibilities for the role of the Institutional and Corporate Partnerships Intern 

• Identifying new partnership opportunities with companies and public institutions, and other NGOs 
• Market observation and strategy development (monitoring trends, identifying potential new partners)  
• Public policy research: conducting research about policy trends on the European and national level 
• Conceptualizing project and collaboration ideas (e.g., for joint campaigns or sponsorships) 
• Proposal writing for private and public funding, drawing on knowledge of past, current, and upcoming Street Child projects 

Requirements / Key characteristics (general) 

• Motivation & initiative: You are committed, can work independently, and are keen to take on responsibility. 
• Interest in non-profit work: You identify with Street Child’s mission and ideally have a basic understanding of the NGO sector. 
• Language skills: For our team in Barcelona, fluent German (written/spoken) and good English skills are required.  
• Strong communication: You communicate effectively both in writing and verbally (e.g. for mailings, calls, social media). 
• Team spirit & flexibility: We work across different areas, so you should enjoy collaboration and be able to adapt quickly to new topics. 
• Common software skills: Basic knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and online tools (email, social media) are beneficial. 

Area-specific requirements (a plus, no need) 

• Analysis and research skills: Market observation, identifying new partners, creating funding proposals. 
• Negotiation skills and enthusiasm for networking (contacting companies and public donors). 

Areas of university studies: 

• It includes but are not limited to marketing, international relations, political science, human rights, development, economics or global affairs.

At Street Child, we are lucky to have fantastic volunteers committed, keeping overheads low so that as much funding a possible can go to our projects in Sub Saharan Africa, Europe and Asia. We are currently looking for a full-time (33 hours/week) German intern to join us in our Barcelona or Munich office. The preferred internship duration is 6 months; however, shorter durations can be discussed.
